NOTE: rumor is that most people are gone for their big weekend.

Too bad it's an historic perspective.

NOTE: commute variance now in a more predictable 40-57minute range.

NOTE: Tried a second shortcut. eliminating I405 where possible.
NOTE: Heard that the "good" weather is causing people to commute earlier so that
they can leave work earlier. Makes sense.

NOTE: Used new "shortcut" too. w/o 2hr? It's not the weather. Total Dist: 18.9 miles

6:30pm: watching the I405 incident response team (IRT) efficiently
wheel the neck-braced Ford Fiesta driver's stretcher into the ambulance;
wondering what caused the semi-truck to rear-end him;
imagining what good could budgeting more IRTs do -
he must have kids;
wishing for the rail & subway solution.
